That's it! The long awaited arrival of our second child is over: Promina bravely delivered a beautiful, healthy, plum little girl of 3.8 kg (8.2 oz), 54 cm, named Advita at 7:19 this morning!
Let's see how it all started... Well, initially, the gyne prepared us for a delivery through cesarean. That was some one month back or so. Then, seeing that the pregnancy was going on really well, he started making us understand that there was no point going for a cesarean without giving a try to a natural birth.
Last week on Monday, we went for a CTG scan to look at the uteran activity, which turned out to show a total absence of signs of pre-labour... On Thursday last week too, we went for another CTG scan which this time showed that contractions could start anytime soon. Very confidently, the gyne told us "see you very soon", worse come to worst come and see me on Monday.
After spending a week-end making shyly our plan, expecting to cut them short any moment, we went back sort of dazed to the hospital on Monday, where -surprise!- the CTG scan was flat, flat, flat... That Monday was the 11th, the official due date. Promina was therefore admitted that very night and the cesarean scheduled for the next morning... And here we are:
I was a bit nervous about attending the birth in the theater but I surprisingly managed well, without feeling dizzy once in front of this medical environement. Like for Mannat, Promina faced the scene very bravely and I am glad I could be close to her to help her as much as I could go through the operation.
The arrival of Advita was preceded by a good kick to take her out of the warmth of her mommy's womb...
And here she is, dirty and bloody but so, so, so very beautiful, crying to salute her arrival amongst us!
The meeting with Promina was quick to happen, the time to cut the cord and go around the table.
A little ambiance for those of you who like theaters:
I then received Advita and Promina released me from the theater to follow our daughter to check the baby out.

And the beauty wide awake, with her dark eyes and her Nani-like look (Promina's mother)... Enjoy... And for those who wonder what Advita means, it is an Hindi name (अद्वीतिः) that signifies 'unique' or 'miracle'...
