Otjikoto Lake

Lake Otjikoto is the biggest natural lake of Namibia, even if it looks very small.
The site around the lake has been developed and one can find numerous animals there, including a crocodile, ostriches... A great place for kids!

The lake is rather small in surface but quite deep (around 150m deep) and voluminous (the shape is that of a mushroom upside down, the base of the mushroom being the surface of the lake). In 1915, German troops being pressured by South African ones, they threw huge amounts of munitions into the lake not to have it seized by their enemies.
