Visiting Soweto

Soweto! The legendary township is now looking like a laid-back neighborhood, at least thee part we visited (Orlando). But this is quite a highlight of our visit, to see the skyline with the two cheminées of the old power plant at a distance:



Soweto girls...


First stop, Hector Pieterson Museum, named after the kid thaat was shot in the 1976 riots... First dip into the horror that was apartheid...


Inside the museum, a number of striking things to see...


As well as outside, where the kid was shot.


Second stop: Nelson Mandela's house... A milestone in our trip!
