I took advantage of my stay in Ho over several days to spend one night in a villages of the region called Adaklu-Helekpe (see also post of Feb-09 on this blog).
African women can be very creative with their hair style!
In front of my palace:
On the main avenue of the place:
Happy man preparing the banku, a paste eaten with soup, fish meat... The paste is based on grated corn and is somewhat... How should I say... Stuffing!
A few feet away, this villager is cooking fishes:
These coloquint fruits are used to make cups once emptied of their content and dried: their bowl shape is pretty useful!
Here is a palm nuts trader, who sells her production to make oil.
A couple of groceries... Not all organised!
And a food seller:
The alcohol drinking place of the village:
A charcoal seller:
And a bee wax producer's stock. It is used to prepare batik clothes among other things:
A water tank:
And the bush meat seller of the village showing a piece of grass-cutter (agouti in French):
Inside the freezer, where one should never take a look...:
Some fried lizards paws:
And a couple of wild animals dried skins...
Amazing all what you can see in one night in a village no?
