Tamale

Here are a few pictureJustify Fulls of Tamale, and more particularly the impressive stadium that was built for the Africa Cup of Nations that took place in Ghana in January 2008. This stadium was built by Chinese entrepreneurs who came with their techniques, their know-how and... there workers of course!


A little bit outside Tamale, on the Nyagpala road, one can find this shea butter village (karité in French). Shea nuts are harvested all around the bush (the tree grows in the wild, it is not planted) and women prepare shea butter out of the nuts that is later exported and employed in the cosmetics industry. It can be either transformed into oil, cream, soap, incorporated in shampoos, etc. Here is a woman preparing the butter:
